Dermatology Virtual Appointments
Clinical lead: Dr Colin Morton
Project manager: Susan Bishop and Sebastian Dallozzo
Board: NHSGG&C, NHS Forth Valley and NHS Grampian
The purpose of the Dermatology Digital Appointments Service is to pilot a new type of virtual clinic conducted through an online portal. This allows for patients to submit their response to a set of key questions about their condition and to upload photos.
Clinicians are then able to review and assess remotely through the StormID Dermatology Digital Appointments Service online.
At the end of each virtual consultation the clinic the system generates an outcome report which will then be inserted into the patient’s clinical record and sent to the patient’s GP Practice.
This new interaction between patients and clinicians reduces unnecessary clinic attendances by patients and improve staff efficiency during clinic time.
This is currently being piloted in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, NHS Forth Valley and NHS Grampian, with a live release nationally from September.
