PROMs are transforming cancer care by providing patients with the ability to provide remote feedback on their physical and psychological symptoms. Clinicians then have access to this information in real time which allows them to track patients’ health and wellbeing.

In the face of COVID-19, electronic PROMs allow patients to stay home and reduce the amount of physical contact with hospital teams. They’ve been particularly helpful when monitoring patients who had their surgery delayed due to national guidance, ensuring clinical oversight. 

The West of Scotland Innovation Hub team has supported the project from the outset, providing guidance and governance assistance.

The project is due to be expanded to other Boards in Scotland.
