Healthcare Innovation Day to showcase work of the Hub during Glasgow Tech Week
The West of Scotland Innovation Hub will showcase its work on the use of artificial intelligence, augmented reality, drones and digital platforms in healthcare settings at a special event next month.
The Healthcare Innovation Day will take place during Glasgow Tech Week on Friday, May 17, and will include hands-on product demonstrations, presentations and panel discussions.
Industry leaders and NHS staff with a clinical interest in innovation are invited to hear from the Hub’s Innovation Fellows and Clinical Theme Leads, and an overview of children’s healthcare innovation centre Hi.
Katriona Brooksbank, Innovation Lead for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, will introduce audience members to Hub and its work and there will be breakout sessions on the use of innovation in managing both diabetes and the menopause.
The day will showcase how collaboration between healthcare services and industry partners have helped to develop technology-enabled solutions, improving staff and patient experiences.
The event, which will run from 9.30am-4pm, will take place at the Imaging Centre of Excellence on the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital campus in Glasgow.

Katriona Brooksbank, Innovation Lead and head of the West of Scotland Innovation Hub, said: “We are delighted to be hosting a Healthcare Innovation Day at the WoSIH as part of Glasgow Tech Week.
“This is an ideal opportunity for us to showcase the ways we are using innovation to address key challenges in health, social care and service delivery.
“Collaboration is key to everything we do and we very much have an open door policy for new ideas and challenges, both from industry partners, potential funders and clinical services.
“We would encourage anyone with an interest to book a place to attend our event and hear more about our current an ongoing work.”
